The mind-body connection

When you feel stressed or unhappy, the way you think about the world around you and your place in it becomes distorted. You may feel disconnected from the pleasures of daily life and become easily frustrated by day-to-day tasks and responsibilities. This sets up a negative cycle as you spend more time immersed in negative thoughts and worry and your feelings of tension, isolation and loneliness grow.

Mind-body integration

Mind-body practices help break this cycle of negativity by helping you understand how your emotional, cognitive and physical well-being are connected and how each affects the others. Mindfulness training allows your mind and body to relax, restore and heal.

Through safe and integrative experiences, you can transform your life in ways that are lasting and positive. On this journey you may discover new possibilities in your life, a new sense of autonomy and new-found resilience. As you naturally realize your own capacity to effect healing and change, you can live your life with a greater sense of purpose.

Some of the mind-body practices we may draw on to help you on this journey include:

  • Meditation
  • Yoga
  • Relaxation
  • Guided imagery
